Biomass to Liquid

This is the home page for the Biomass to Liquid project.

Biomass to Liquid is, as its name implies, converting biomass (straw, wood, corn, grass) into a liquid form. This projects aims are to produce a working design that is low-cost, and able to be fabricated by almost anyone, anywhere. (Rationale)

How one can go about the conversion of biomass to liquid is quickly presented in the Overview.

The project is really a design project, where all aspects of the design of a working biomass to liquid conversion device will be developed, from mechanical design, chemical modelling, control systems and output verification.

In order to appeal to as many people as possible, all design tools, where possible will be freely obtainable, and all ideas, concepts, calculations and outcomes will be published and in the public domain.

For the mechanical design work, models will be done using Alibre (www.alibre.com). Alibre provides a free 3D CAD package, which can be downloaded from their site. Other tools/sources are outlined here (Tools).

My name is Duane Kaufman. Welcome to this project! (biomasstoliquid on SourceForge)
